You've logged into your TVET college student portal. You've navigated to the results section. And the page is either completely blank, showing "No results found", or only showing results from previous years. It's stressful โ but in most cases, there's a simple explanation and a straightforward fix. Here are the five most common reasons your results aren't showing, and exactly what to do about each one.
You Have the Wrong Academic Year or Semester Selected
This is by far the most common reason. The results portal has dropdown menus for the academic year and semester period. Many students leave these on a default value (often a previous year) and don't realise it โ so the system finds nothing for the year displayed.
On the results screen, look for dropdowns labelled Academic Year, Year, or Semester. Change the year to the current or most recent year (e.g., 2025 or 2026). Also try selecting both Semester 1 and Semester 2 separately, or look for an "All" option. For supplementary exams, the results often appear under a different semester code than the main exams โ try all available options before concluding that results are missing.
Your Results Haven't Been Uploaded Yet
TVET exam results are not instant. After your exams finish, the papers must be marked, moderated, and then uploaded to the portal by the college's administration team. This process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks after the last exam date. For supplementary exam results, add another 6 to 8 weeks. The portal updates in batches โ your classmate's results may appear before yours even for the same subject.
Check the approximate release date for your exam cycle. If the expected window has passed, check back every 24 to 48 hours rather than every few hours โ results are uploaded in large batches, not one at a time. Your college may also send an SMS notification to your registered phone number when results are published.
You Are Logged Into the Wrong Student Account
Some students have used multiple student numbers over the years โ for example, if they re-enrolled after a gap or transferred from one campus to another. If you are logged in with an old or incorrect student number, the portal will show results for a different account (which may be empty) rather than your current record.
Confirm your current student number by checking your most recent registration letter, your student card, or any official correspondence from the college. Log out, then log back in using the correct student number. If you're unsure which student number is active, contact your campus Student Administration office โ they can confirm the correct number while you wait.
The Portal Is Down or Running Slowly Due to High Traffic
On days when results are first published, thousands of students across the country log in at the same time. College portals โ many of which run on older Oracle iEnabler software โ can struggle under this load. You may experience blank pages, slow loading, error messages like "500 Internal Server Error" or "503 Service Unavailable", or the results page appearing completely empty even when results have been uploaded.
Try accessing the portal at off-peak times โ early morning (before 08:00) or late at night (after 21:00) โ when fewer students are online. Also try switching from WiFi to mobile data, as this bypasses any local network congestion. Clear your browser cache (press Ctrl+Shift+Delete in Chrome) and reload. If the issue persists for more than 24 hours, the server may be undergoing maintenance โ check again the following day.
Your Browser or Device Settings Are Blocking the Portal
TVET college portals are older web applications that rely on cookies, JavaScript, and specific browser compatibility to display results correctly. If you are using a privacy-focused browser, incognito mode, or have ad blockers or strict privacy extensions enabled, the portal may appear broken or empty โ even when your results are actually there.
Always use Google Chrome (updated to the latest version) when accessing your college portal โ it offers the best compatibility. Make sure you are not in Incognito mode, as this blocks cookies required for your login session. Temporarily disable any browser extensions (ad blockers, privacy shields, uBlock Origin) and try again. If you are on an iPhone, try Safari instead of Chrome, and enable "Allow all cookies" in your Safari settings under Privacy.
When None of the Above Fixes Work
If you have gone through all five fixes and still cannot see your results, the next step is to contact your college directly. Do not rely on WhatsApp groups or social media for confirmation โ speak to official college staff.
- Student Administration office: They can confirm whether your results have been uploaded and whether there is an issue specific to your account.
- IT Help Desk (if your college has one): For technical portal access issues.
- Academic Advisor or Lecturer: They sometimes receive batch result notifications and can advise whether marking for your subject is complete.
When you contact the college, have your student number, full name, and the specific subjects you are enquiring about ready. This makes the process much faster.
โ ๏ธ Important Note on Supplementary Results
Supplementary exam results are published separately from main exam results and often appear under a different semester code in the portal. If you are looking for supplementary results, read our Supplementary Results 2026 guide for specific instructions on finding them in the portal.Quick Checklist Before You Contact Your College
- โ Are you logged in with the correct and current student number?
- โ Have you selected the correct academic year in the dropdown?
- โ Have you tried all available semester options?
- โ Are you using Google Chrome (not incognito, no extensions)?
- โ Have you tried mobile data instead of WiFi?
- โ Has enough time passed since your exams? (3โ6 weeks for main, 6โ8 weeks for supplementary)
If you can answer yes to all of the above and results are still not showing, it is appropriate to contact your college's Student Administration office for assistance.
