Answers to the most common questions from TVET students across South Africa β portal login, results, PIN resets, qualifications and more.
Your PIN is a personal identification number used to log into your college's student portal. The default PIN is often your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format (e.g. 15 March 2000 = 15032000).
If you changed your PIN and forgot it, visit your campus admin office in person with your student card or ID to have it reset β there is no online reset option on any TVET portal.
Try these steps in order:
After several failed PIN attempts, the portal locks your account. You cannot unlock it online. Visit your campus admin or student support office in person with your student card and ID. They will unlock the account and reset your PIN on the same day. Office hours are typically Monday to Friday, 08:00β16:00.
Yes. The portals work on smartphones. For best results use Google Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone. If the site looks broken, open your browser menu and select "Request Desktop Site". Use mobile data rather than WiFi if the page isn't loading.
This happens when cookies are blocked. The portal requires cookies to maintain your login session. Fix it by turning off incognito/private browsing mode and checking that your browser allows cookies. In Chrome go to Settings β Privacy and Security β Cookies β Allow all cookies. Also temporarily disable strict privacy extensions.
Results are published 3 to 6 weeks after the final exam date. Supplementary exam results take a further 6 to 8 weeks after the supplementary period ends.
The college usually sends an SMS notification when results are published if you registered a phone number. Results are uploaded in batches, so your results may appear at a different time to your classmates' even for the same subject.
This usually means the wrong year or semester is selected. Try:
If results still don't appear after adjusting the dropdowns, they haven't been uploaded yet. Check again in 24 to 48 hours.
Once logged in, navigate to Student Enquiry β Academic Record. Most portals have a Print or Download PDF button. If not, use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P) and choose "Save as PDF".
For a stamped, official academic record you must request one from the college registry office β there is usually a small processing fee.
Even if you score 80% or higher in a supplementary exam, your recorded mark will be capped at 40%. This is official DHET policy for both NC(V) and NATED qualifications. The supplementary exam is purely a pass/fail gateway β the capped mark is what will appear on your academic record.
NC(V) β National Certificate Vocational (NQF Levels 2, 3, and 4): A 3-year full-time programme. Students must pass all seven subjects including three fundamentals to qualify for a certificate.
NATED β Report 191 (N1 to N6): Covers engineering (N1βN6) and business studies (N4βN6). N6 plus 18 months of relevant workplace experience leads to a National Diploma.
You need at least 40% in each subject to pass. If you fail:
Supplementary exams for November 2025 NC(V) and NATED examinations are typically held in January to February 2026. Check your college notice board and the DHET website for official timetables. Registration usually happens in December β contact your admin office before the December holiday.
Once you have passed all Level 4 subjects, visit your campus registry or Student Administration office and request a certificate application. You will need your student ID, academic record, and proof of identity. Certificates are printed and distributed by DHET and can take several months to arrive.
NSFAS has academic performance requirements. If you fail more than 50% of your registered modules in a year, your funding may be suspended or cancelled. NSFAS allows one appeal per student per qualification.
If your funding is at risk, contact your college's Financial Aid Office immediately. Don't wait for an official notice β they can assist with an appeal.

Yes, it is safe. We do not have a login system and we never ask for your student number, PIN, or any personal information. All portal links open in a new tab directly on your college's official domain β your login credentials go straight to the college, not through this website.
Email us at admin@tvetresults.co.za with the name of the college and what you found. We update the site regularly and appreciate reports from students.
