🏫 About King Sabata Dalindyebo TVET College

King Sabata Dalindyebo TVET College β€” commonly known as KSD TVET β€” is one of the largest TVET colleges in the Eastern Cape, serving the OR Tambo District Municipality from its main campus in Mthatha. Named after King Sabata Dalindyebo, the influential Thembu king, the college provides NC(V) (Levels 2–4) and NATED (N1–N6) qualifications to students across Mthatha, Libode, Ngcobo, Qumbu, and Mount Ayliff.

Like all public TVET colleges in South Africa, KSD TVET uses an online student portal where students can log in with their student number and PIN to view their official examination results, download their academic record, register for modules, and manage their student information.

This guide walks you through exactly how to use that portal β€” from logging in for the first time to troubleshooting the most common issues students encounter.

πŸ“‹ How to Check Your Results β€” Step by Step

  1. 1
    Open the Official Student Portal

Go to ienabler.ksdcollege.edu.za. Use Google Chrome or Firefox on desktop, or Chrome/Safari on your phone. Avoid Internet Explorer or older browsers.

  2. 2
    Click "Student Login"

On the portal homepage, select the Student Login option. Do not click Staff Login β€” that section is only for lecturers and college employees.

  3. 3
    Enter Your Student Number

Your student number is printed on your registration letter, student card, or proof of enrolment. It is typically 8–10 digits. Enter it exactly as shown β€” no spaces, dashes, or letters.

  4. 4
    Enter Your PIN

Your PIN was created when you first registered. If this is your first login, your default PIN is often your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format (e.g. 15 March 2002 = 15032002). Change it after logging in.

  5. 5
Navigate to Student Enquiry β†’ Examination Results

Select the correct academic year and semester from the dropdowns. If you are checking supplementary results, they may appear under a different semester code to your main exams.

ℹ️
Results not showing? College portals are updated in batches. Allow 3–6 weeks after exams for main results, and 6–8 weeks for supplementary results. If nothing appears, check that the correct year and semester are selected.

πŸ–₯️ What You Can Do in the KSD TVET Student Portal

Once you are logged in, the student portal gives you access to a range of academic and administrative functions β€” all in one place, without needing to visit the campus:

πŸ”§ Troubleshooting Common Portal Problems

❌ "Invalid student number or PIN"

Check that your student number matches exactly what is on your registration letter. If you have never logged in before, try your date of birth as PIN (DDMMYYYY format). After three failed attempts the portal may lock your account β€” contact your campus admin office to unlock it.

❌ The portal page won't load or shows a white screen

⚠️
Most TVET college portals run on Oracle iEnabler technology which works best in Google Chrome. If you are on a different browser, switch to Chrome. If you are on WiFi, switch to mobile data β€” some home routers and campus networks block the ports the portal uses.

❌ "Session Expired" immediately after logging in

The portal requires cookies to maintain your login session. Turn off private/incognito browsing mode. In Chrome, clear cookies and cached files with Ctrl+Shift+Delete, then reload the page. Also temporarily disable browser extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger.

❌ I am logged in but my results page shows nothing

Select the correct Academic Year (e.g. 2025) and Semester from the dropdown menus. Supplementary results appear under a different semester code. If no semester shows results, they have not been uploaded yet β€” check again in 24–48 hours.

❌ The portal shows "Server Error" or "503 Unavailable"

This means the college's server is temporarily overloaded or under maintenance β€” this is common during result release periods when thousands of students log in simultaneously. Wait 20–30 minutes and try again. Early morning or late evening are usually less busy times.

πŸ”‘ How to Reset Your KSD TVET Student Portal PIN

There is no online PIN reset option on the KSD TVET student portal. To reset your PIN you must visit a campus in person:

  1. 1
Bring your student card or South African ID

You need a valid form of identification. Your student card is preferred. A green ID book or smart ID card is also accepted.

  2. 2
Go to the Student Administration office or IT Help Desk

Any campus administration office can process a PIN reset. See the campus contact details below.

  3. 3
    Request a PIN reset

The officer will reset your PIN on the same day. You will receive a temporary PIN β€” log in and change it immediately to something only you know.

🚫
Never share your PIN with anyone β€” including people claiming to represent the college, TVET Results, or DHET. Your PIN is private and personal.

πŸ“Š Understanding Your KSD TVET Results

What do the marks mean?

For NC(V) (National Certificate Vocational) subjects at NQF Levels 2, 3, and 4, you need a minimum of 40% in each subject (30% in the language component of Fundamental subjects) to pass and progress to the next level. NC(V) is a year-based system β€” failing any subject means repeating the entire level, not just the failed subject.

For NATED (Report 191) subjects at N1 to N6 level, you also need 40% to pass. NATED is more flexible β€” if you fail one subject, you only repeat that specific subject and keep your passes in all other subjects.

What is a Supplementary Exam pass?

If you fail a subject in the main exam cycle, you may qualify to write a supplementary exam (usually in January/February for November exams). Even if you score higher, your recorded mark is capped at 40% by DHET policy. The supplementary exam is purely a pass/fail gateway.

How do I appeal a mark I think is wrong?

Contact the KSD TVET Student Administration office at any campus within 30 days of results being published. Request a formal remark. There is a fee of approximately R100–R300 per subject, which is refunded if the remark improves your mark.
